B I O G R A P H Y 

Anna Etsuko Tsuri is a internationally experienced opera stage director.

She was the first Japanese graduate for opera directing at Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, an elite program that only accepts a few students each year.  She has directed more than 20 opera projects in many cities like Vienna, Berlin, Riga, Tokyo, New York, Boston and Washington DC. She has put two of her productions at the John F. Kennedy Center. Her other work experience consists of 80 productions at opera houses and festivals such as the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Washingon National Opera, Komische Opera Berlin, Théâtre du Soleil à Paris,  Bregenzer Festspiel, Dortmund Opera Haus, New National Theater Tokyo, and the Bayreuth Festival for Young Artists. In 2009, NHK  (Japanese national TV network) made her the main focus of the hour-long documentary. She has also been interviewed and featured in TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, digital publications, DVD, and book.
